UCAAN Change a Life Road Trip - Day #32 - July 17th, 2016

Day #32 – Sunday July 17th, 2016
A Day in Arvada, CO

Today marks my little brother’s 26th Birthday. Happy Birthday Ben!!

I got up at 8:30am and started writing. Once everyone else got up we cooked breakfast and all ate in the sunroom, which is much like an attached greenhouse sitting area. We all enjoyed our breakfast out there and talked, it was a nice way to start the morning. Then Doryn and I went to run errands and came back for an adventurous day out with the family. Our plan was to drive to Idaho Springs, Colorado to visit some amazing Hot Springs, head to lunch, then to Evergreen to check out some bison then off to Golden, CO for Dinner. We drove through some gorgeous mountains and scenery to get to the Indian Hot Springs hotel and spa. The Hot Springs pool at Indian Hot Springs was unlike any other I’ve seen before. It was covered and surrounded by flowers, palm trees and banana trees and lots of green. It looked just like a pool, but it was filled with Hot Mineral Springs that came in through a spout on one side of the pool at 115 Degrees, however the pool was about 100 degrees. Doryn and I spent probably about an hour in these amazing waters, while my aunt, uncle and mom waited in another spot on the grounds. If you haven’t tried mineral Hot Springs you definitely should!!

Afterwards we drove through Idaho Springs, which is a cute little town and stopped at a small restaurant to enjoy lunch. Then we drove out to see the Famous Red Rock Amphitheater, a concert theater nestled in some remarkable red rocks!  We drove through a lot of gorgeous areas indeed including a peaceful cemetery in Evergreen surrounded by green and animals. We saw Elk here, Bison and even a baby bison and had some time to feed some goats and deer all in one fenced in area together. We enjoyed the animals, especially feeding those deer! Next stop was our drive out to Golden for a nice dinner by the river. After our exciting and fun filled day we headed back to the house. It was such a wonderful day. Thank you Uncle Kenny & Aunt Kerry for having us here!
